  2. The previous two Goodison derbies have ended goalless – right?
WRONG: the previous Goodison 'men' derbies have ended goalless.
Nor will either of the two in March.

    First of all,
those who were old enough to remember a beautifully cold 1988 Merseyside Sunday afternoon,
or simply watching ITV's The Big Match live coverage of this game
will know who scored the only goal
that would preserve Leeds Utd's 1970's unbeaten season-starting record of 29 games
    for another 16 years
thanks only to a horrible pitch: Wayne Clarke.

Then take into account that Everton Women won at Anfield last November
without top goalscorer and now England international Chloe Kelly
and you'll only begin to realise how much of a backlash
the Everton 'men' are to be expected to dish out on Monday night.

I haven't watched much Liverpool 'men' this season,
but the December 2017 Anfield derby
    exposed 'captain' Jordan Henderson
as the weak link in their club
for not speeding up and stamping authority in the team's passing
against a team with inferior fitness, strength and skill.

The stats suggest this has changed
but what really has changed for Liverpool
is that the lesson Klopp needed to learn (getting rid of that idiot Lovren)

meant spending £75m on a player of purpose and honour: Virgil van Dijk.

You saw the 2-1 winner at Anfield in 2018.
    When VvD plays, everyone plays.

Yes, Everton were taken apart (again) at the Bridge
by a team with European experience and class
    who knew how to pass
    and where to run
    with efficiency and purpose
and we didn't have a clue how to react to them at their pace of playing.

    But at Goodison Park
Everton tend to get more soft refereeing leniency
so 1-1 until the last five minutes
    and who knows…

…(well I know: Liverpool Women relegated at Goodison on Wednesday 25th March!)

    Happy days.
