A Guide to Soccer Shorts

There are many different kinds of shorts that a soccer player can wear during a soccer game or practice, but clearly the best kinds of shorts are soccer shorts – shorts that are made specifically for the game of soccer.

Soccer-specific shorts are a part of the game. Soccer shorts help a player make the best impression on both his or her teammates and on selectors during a tryout. Of course, soccer shorts do not just make a soccer player look «good.» They are also durable and can withstand the rough and tumbles of a soccer game (and there can be plenty of tumbles, tumbles that would rip other shorts or leave them grass-stained). Soccer shorts are also made to be comfortable so that a player can focus on the ball at hand (or, rather, at foot) instead of on his soccer clothing.

Soccer Shorts are made from polyester, but there are two different types to decide between, knit and woven. Woven soccer shorts tend to be more durable and tear-resistant than woven soccer shorts. This quality may be very important to very rough players, or soccer players who spend a lot of time down on the field!

Fit is always important, just as it is in regular clothes. If your shorts don’t fit, you aren’t going to be very comfortable which may make it harder to concentrate on the game. Also, improperly fitting soccer shorts may not allow the same sort of freedom of movement that properly fitting shorts would.

To know if you have the right fit, measure the inseam (which is from the crotch to the bottom of the soccer shorts). If you are of average size, your inseam should generally measure 5 inches for adult sizes and just 3 to 4 inches for youth sizes. Consider a drawstring and an elastic waist to ensure a proper fit.

Before you go ahead and buy your shorts, you want to think of what potential problems you could have. You don’t want to find them out when you’re already out on the soccer field. Make sure that the waistband is neither too tight nor too loose. You also want to check out the seams and the waist band to see if they may potentially irritate your skin. Just rub your fingers along the seams to check them out.

And remember: just because baggy shorts may be «in,» it does not mean that they are the best short for the game – improperly fitting shorts can hamper mobility. It’s better to look good because of your soccer skills than because of your fashionable soccer shorts.

Once you’ve found the soccer shorts that you think are just right for you, you want to wear them to a practice or two before you test them out on the field, just to make sure that they are just as comfortable as you imagined. And if it turns out that you really like this style and brand, stick to it. Why try out different soccer shorts if you already have the perfect pair?

Barefoot Training For Soccer Players Increases Their Speed and Explosiveness

Do you want to get faster and more explosive on the soccer field? Would you like to lower the risk of getting injured? If so, keep reading!

Many soccer teams that I train or athletes that I work with share a common trait when they warm up…they all warm up in their bare feet. Here is the reason for that. By wearing shoes all the time, we are not strengthening the small muscles in the foot as well as we could. Shoes obviously serve a purpose, but try warming up your team without their shoes on and by doing this you will start to strengthen all of those small muscles in the feet, you will also help to strengthen the joints and ligaments in the ankle and lower leg as well.

I have written before about the Active Dynamic Warm up (ADW). If players do their ADW (series of exercises to warm their core body temperature up and then stretch dynamically) before their practice starts, they will in effect be doing themselves a huge favor.

Since soccer players (and most athletes) use their feet so much to not only play the sport of soccer but to be athletic too, training their feet to get stronger will absolutely increase their soccer speed, make them stronger which in turn will make them more explosive and will also reduce the number of lower leg injuries as well.

While I know this example is a bit of a reach, if you consider it, then you can see how barefoot training can effect your feet. Alright, so here is the example. If you wore baseball gloves on your hands for 2 weeks and did your normal routine, when you took the baseball gloves off and then tried to open a brand new jar of peanut butter, you probably couldn’t do it. The small muscles in your hand got weaker since you didn’t use them fully. The same thing applies when you wear shoes.

If you do a barefoot warm up, please make certain to clear the area of any rocks or sticks or anything that could injure a players foot. If you train indoors, then this issue is greatly reduced.

Just 15 minutes of barefoot training will help soccer players generate more speed, increase their agility and help to reduce lower leg and foot injuries.

I hope you have a great day!

2. Worn Heel Tips

If the heels of your shoes are worn and they produce clicking sound, we suggest that you go for the heel caps. The caps on the nail of metal may stop the clicking sound instantly. This is an ideal solution if you don’t find a shoe repair shop near your house. Make sure you measure the tips of your heel to look for the right cap size.

3. Reattach Soles

If you want to repair or rebuild your shoes, you may want to look for a good sealant and adhesive. The product can be used on rubber, leather, canvas and vinyl. With this type of produce, you can reattach shoe parts, such as rubber soles. Aside from this, you can fill in holes or gaps and seams. Besides, you can also rebuild worn heels and top lifts.

Here, it’s important to keep in mind that you should opt for good quality contact cement for a sturdy bond. It’s not a good idea to make use of gorilla glue or super glue as it won’t be flexible enough. As a matter of fact, your shoes should be flexible so you can move your feet around with ease. At times, super glue may end up damaging your shoe leather. Therefore, you must be careful.

First of all, you need some preventive tips. Make sure you use a quality spray for the protection of your shoes, especially when they are still new. Aside from this, make sure you protect your shoes from water on a daily basis. There should be no stains or spills on your cleats. If you have canvas shoes, you can use bees wax. On the other hand, for leather, you can use nubuck or suede.

5. Stretch Shoes

If you have bought a pair cleats for the first time and they are too tight, you can use this tip to stretch them. How To Save Money But Get The Best Quality When Buying Soccer Cleats

Soccer cleats can be really expensive going by the brand and features included in the designing. Every serious player, of course, deserves a pair that is top in quality, but this does not always mean that you have to break the bank to get a pair that will serve you effectively and for a long time. If you are trying to be frugal with your purchase but still want to get the best value for the money you spend, then a few practices can help you get the perfect pair in terms of quality and price.

Go for top models from the previous season

The truth is that different soccer cleat brands release new models every once in a while. This generally means that the previous models are included in sale baskets and the prices are hugely discounted so they can give way to the newer better models. In most cases, there isn’t much of a difference between the previous models and the newer models save for a few modifications and updates. You will find superior functionality with the previous models same you would with the new and the good news is that you will manage to save a considerable amount of money when you choose not to go with the winds of change.

Make the perfect timing for your purchase

One of the best ways of getting good value for your soccer cleats is buying when the season is coming to an end. This is because at this time very few players are thinking about getting a new pair and hence the prices are reasonable compared to when the play season is about to begin. It is also wise to consider making your purchase during holiday weekends when retailers go out of their way with the prices to reach a wider clientele. You will be surprised at just how affordable soccer cleats can be when sales are running, especially from a number of stores.

Know where to look and buy

Whereas it is a good idea to stick to reputable sites like manufacturer sites to make purchases on genuine soccer cleats, choosing other reliable sources can get you the same quality at much lower prices. Apart from enjoying great sales from such sites and stores, you may land a second hand pair that still has lots of life in it at a very low price. Sometimes sellers are just too eager to get rid of items they do not need that they could pass out the value they hold. Try and search for the perfect pair as much as you can; you will be surprised at what some of the searches online unveil for you.

Taking advantage of sales is definitely one of the best ways of finding the top quality soccer cleats that you have been looking for. Choose reputable stores and keep up with checking for any sales that could be running so you can take full advantage to find quality pairs for your soccer needs.

How to Become a Powerful Influence On People

How Influential Are You?

Have you stopped lately to think about what level of influence you have on people? To put it another way; Do people listen to you and respect your opinion? This is especially important on your job, whether you are rank-and-file or in management. People follow leaders, whether they hold a title on their job or not. If you are not able to persuade people, and win them over to your way of thinking, you may be relegated to the lower rungs of society.

Every day we are presented with opportunities to influence others. It may come in the form of a law enforcement officer ready to issue you a ticket, or your boss challenging parts of your presentation, or when you have to return a pair of shoes to the department store without a receipt. How you handle these everyday challenges, in turn, help or hurt your ability to shine in high profile situations, where your persuasive skills are on display for all to see.

Your Most Powerful Tool

Do you want to know the most powerful tool you have at your disposal when it comes to influencing people? I learned and perfected this strategy over a 4 year period, while working as a contracts negotiator for the Department of Defense. I must have learned my lesson well, because I was named one of the top negotiators in my area, and received the coveted sustained superior performance award for high level achievements.

This tool is so powerful, most people (on all levels of organizations) completely miss it, yet it has been proven to be extremely effective in studies after studies. What is it you ask? It is the "psychology of a smile." That's right; a smile. Why is it so powerful? Because it has no language barriers-none. I have tested this theory all around the world. No matter where I travel, every single person, in every language understands its message. A smile is the universal language of winners. The reason I call it a tool is because, like any tool it works in the right situation.

It was President Abraham Lincoln who said that a man is extremely responsible for the condition of his face. How true this is. So the next time you are tempted to use the tool of anger during one of your daily challenges, try employing a simple smile instead, and see if the results are different. I have used it on flights across the country, and witnessed flight attendance to be more attentive to me v. others. I have used it when I really should have gotten a ticket for speeding, only to get a warning to slow down. I have used it at restaurants and watched servers be just a little kinder to me and my party, over all others. I have watched frowns turn to smiles, simple because I took the time to smile.

The Smile Strategy

Do not dismiss this as some flaky strategy used by flakes and geeks. The "smile strategy" has been used effectively by such greats as Henry Kissinger, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Oprah Winfrey, Melinda Gates, Nelson Mandela, Richard Bronson, Warren Buffet, Barack Obama, Napoleon Hill, Angela Merkel, Michelle Obama, Laurene Powell Jobs, and so many more.

Do you want to become a powerful influence on people? Then start with a smile. Watch stunningly successful people (even in your immediate circles) and you'll see that they have a tendency to smile more than others. Frank Irving Fletcher wrote that; a smile cost nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

Conclusion

One of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal when it comes to influencing people is simply to smile .. A smile is the universal language of winners.

Minha Casa Minha Vida – Investing in Brazil

Brazil is regarded as the 7th biggest economy in the world and has been selected to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It is an excepted fact though often ignored that when countries are awarded the hosting of major sporting events like the World Cup or the Olympics that it is a clear sign of an economy that is booming.

Brazil is currently experiencing a tremendous growth phenomenon. Principle factors including a relatively strong economy and politically stable environment have indeed attracted many investors from all over the world.

Holiday homes and tourist accommodation are usually popular among investors, though now may not be the best time to invest in these following the direct impact of a global economic downturn. Perhaps the best approach would be to look at developing valuable holiday spots in prime locations with a view to reaping the benefits long-term as the demand grows with improved economic stability.

Having that said – Brazil does have another trick up its sleeve when it comes to property investing. Minha Casa Minha Vida is the name of a huge project which aims to meet the increasing demands of affordable housing in Brazil. The idea is to make housing as accessible as possible to lower-income groups within the population. This makes investing in local residential real estate in Brazil an attractive and safe opportunity that will continue to grow and promises high returns further ensured by the high demand in this case.

Year to year prices of the local housing in Brazil suggest a consistent increase up to 20%. Investors who strategically position themselves within the circle of this development will certainly be able to reap extensive rewards and also sell their properties for higher expected returns.

The government of Brazil needs to exercise special consideration over a growing shortfall of affordable housing for its citizens and is therefore welcoming foreign investors. The target is to be able to provide an estimated 37 million houses and this they hope to achieve by 2030.

The Minha Casa Minha Vida programme is expected to look into all areas of the country where the population is concentrated in large numbers. They are experiencing a huge deficit of housing. This in turn has even greater implications for the kind of development that needs to take place there. Investors will no doubt continue to benefit as the programme extends into the future.

To get started into the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme investors need to fork out a minimum of $74,000. This initial investment will see a 50% profit in just two years and is tax exempt in Brazil.

T20 World Cup Cricket

What will the status of the winners be when they emerge victorious from the tournament this month? It might sound an odd question, but think about how absurd it would be in any other sport. Imagine that six months after the FIFA World Cup, another tournament, also called the World Cup, was played with pretty much the same teams fielding pretty much the same players in a pretty similar tournament format with pretty similar viewing figures (both at the grounds and on the telly), but with 45-minute matches rather than the full 90.

I'm not questioning the existence of T20, because I love cricket, and I understand that this ultra-intense, short format of the game means people can watch a whole game in an evening after work; it gives the game more appealing, more coverage, more peak-time advertising opportunity and hence, more money. It's also a great spectacle.

I just think its going to be weird when there are two world champions of cricket.

Test cricket is, of course, an identical different kettle of fish; tactics and gameplay are wholly different from the one day game. The length of time encounters take, and the massive likelihood of draws, means that a ranking system is the only way to produce a 'world number one team', whereas 50 overs-a-side lends itself to definite results in the finite time of a tournament. 20-20 is very much like 50-50 in its style and ethos: score as many runs as you can as quickly as you can; restrict as many runs as stingily as you can. It, too, can be played in a tournament, which is why we have this second 'World Cup'.

The winners will, therefore, claim to be world champions of cricket, and the best in the shortened version of the game. But the Australia team that lifted the World Cup in the West Indies a few months ago already claim that title. And 'Twenty20 world champions' does not really mean anything, at least yet: so few T20s are played internationally (England has played the most in history with a grand total of 6) India has played just 2) that no-one will really care. Also, the games are so short that a second-rate international team could conceivably lift the trophy. The flaws in a Zimbabwe side could possibly be papered over for three hours at a time that would have unduly caused a collapse over a whole day or more. What if a 'minnow' wins the whole thing? They are played so infinitely by the test-playing nations that the 'world champion' label will be redundant until they play the tournament again.

One solution would be to have an annual or biennial T20 tournament, outside of which international T20 is not played. Then it would be clear that T20, while popular and important, is not of the same caliber and class as the official cricket world cup, in the same way that the Six Nations is keenly contested every year, but with the winning side not making any pretensions to overall global superiority. Maybe the difficulties will disappear as T20 establishes its niche. But the simplest solution this time round, to avoid any argument or confusion, would be if Australia won the discussed thing. Doubtless they will oblige.
