Soccer Drills – Preparing Your Young Soccer Players For the Finals

I have seen on many occasions a team of gifted young soccer players go through a season undefeated, only to get to the grand final and lose their only game of the season. My son played in a team that only lost two games last season. They were the final, and the grand final. I have coached teams on many occasions that defeated the undefeated team in the grand final. Maybe you are the coach of a team that is currently undefeated and entering the finals. Or maybe you are the coach of a team that is the underdog going into the finals. How do you prepare young soccer players to play in the finals?

I hear it said on many occasions that a final is just another game. I do not subscribe to this theory. While the game is played on the same field, with the same ball, and the same number of players, junior soccer players attach a greater importance to finals. And so do senior players for that matter. I think that telling players that it is just another game is just a defensive mechanism so that they do not feel so bad if they lose. I coach players to approach a final with an attitude that this is the game of the year when they should give their absolutely best effort. It is at this time of the year that they should really aim up and show how good they really are. Encourage them to be their best and be 100 percent committed is the best way to approach a final. And, then if they lose you can comfort them with the fact that they did their best.

Finals matches are usually more intense than regular season games. There is usually less time and less space for players to work in. In the weeks leading into the finals your soccer drills should be concentrating on the first touch, short passes, passing and moving, and controlling the ball under pressure. This will help your players cope with the extra pressure placed on them in a final. Keeping possession of the ball should always be one of the major aims, so teaching your players to use their body to protect possession is also another key skill to be focusing on leading into the finals.

Are you the underdog? Are you playing against a team that you have not beaten all year? All teams have key players, and all teams have weaknesses. When I coach a team against a stronger club, I try to identify the key players on the opposition team. If you have played them in the regular season you will already know this. Shut them down. Man mark them. Play them out of the game. This may involve reorganising the structure of your team, so I like to practice this structure in a few regular season games so that the players are familiar with it. I also use defensive training drills like tagging, and drills to close space on attackers to help with this. If you can upset the game of the key players on the opposition you will go a long way to beating them.

Attack. The aim of a finals game is to win. Draws do not count in finals. So you must score goals. Team formation is a critical element in the playing style of your team. Are you playing 4 4 2, 4 3 3, or 3 4 3. I do not like to vary too much the formation that I have used during the regular season. But one of the main aims in a finals match must be to score goals.

Preparing your team to play in the finals should start at training a few weeks before the finals start. Soccer drills should encourage ball control, short passing, and speed of movement. Defensive drills should encourage tagging, and closing space. Think clearly about the formation you are going to play and how you are going to score goals. And identify the strengths of your opponent and try to neutralize them. Then before the game build your players up to give 100 percent and play to the best of their ability. That will give them the best chance to be successful on the field.

Freestyle Soccer – Confused on Where to Start?

First of all, let's start with a simple question, what is freestyle soccer? Freestyle soccer is simply the style and ability to combine various soccer tricks in juggling and ground moves. It's a new trend in soccer along with other types like five a side futsal and beach soccer. In a soccer context, freestyle is perceived as less significance to the modern game. However, freestyle soccer does improve a footballer's ability to control the ball.

The ball control is what I perceived as the most important element in soccer before other attributes like fitness and tactics. There's a saying that if you can control the ball you can control the game. In fact, I stumbled one of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's, an Inter Milan player, quotes saying that as long as you have the ball, you'll have the advantage. Yet majority of footballers still ignore the importance of freestyle soccer. There are reasons behind it and one of them is that the soccer tricks are difficult to execute and only brings less to the modern game. True enough, but let's not forget the concept of ball control. Learning freestyle allows a player to enhance his touches especially the first touch. A great first touch buys you thousands of mili seconds to give you an edge over the opposition.

Those seconds could change the game in an instant especially in the modern game where it demands fast and furious soccer. As a result of those reasons, they don't even bother in the first place. On the other side, the ones who love freestyle soccer perceived it as something that they can express their creativity and improve on ball control and touches to a greater heights. But I'm more concern to those who are ignorant and may not have the slightest interest on freestyle soccer. The problem is, they may not know where to begin especially after watching a series of freestyle videos on streaming sites like YouTube. I'm assuming that they only watched the difficult tricks and instead forget the basics of freestyle soccer. I believe that freestyle soccer should begin with the basics like juggling and planting before moving on to the more advanced soccer tricks like the around the world, crossover, flip flap and others. It's important since juggling is the principle of all types of ball control along with dribbling. In this case, I shall focus on juggling since it's related to freestyle soccer.

Juggling the ball

Simply done by doing kick ups without letting the ball fall on to the ground and expanded to different parts of the body from foot, thigh, shoulder and head. The aim is to be able to link your juggling skills from one part to the other. For example, transfer your juggling from foot to your thigh. You can start with a simple transfer and improve to more advanced transfers like juggling from foot to thigh and then head. Once you've mastered juggling, you can start planting or stalling a soccer ball.

Planting the ball

The ability to balance the ball on a specific part of your body like balancing the ball on your foot. You can start by placing the ball on your foot and once you've mastered, you can plant the ball during your juggling. For example, juggle with your foot which is then transferred to your thigh and then balance it with your foot ie foot plant. Focus on these two abilities will help build confidence for you to start on learning some of the basic freestyle soccer tricks. Improving your juggling and planting skills increases your coordination abilities especially when you practice your transferring or linking skills. For this one, I'd recommend the around the world trick because it's the principle of all soccer tricks. Once you've mastered this trick, you have a great chance of doing other tough soccer tricks like the MATW, TATW, crossover etc. The trick is simply to rotate your foot around the ball after either juggling or footplant and kick it as you finish the rotation to complete the process.

These are a couple of basics that you'd need to constantly bear in mind. Similar to soccer, the techniques are very important and I highly encourage you to practice these tricks with a lot of dedication and once mastered, you'll begin to appreciate the beauty of freestyle soccer.

Soccer Training in the Heat – 5 Tips to Prevent Dehydration, Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke

In a hot climate, regardless if you are in this environment all year round or if it is hot in your spring and summer, you still must be able to train at a the highest intensity possible. It is for that reason you need to be aware of your soccer player's physical health.

The most important thing is to keep your players hydrated on a consistent basis. First let us take a look at the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Heat exhaustion is the early stage of heat illness and is the most common form you see with soccer training. This occurs after long periods of training in a hot environment.
Heat exhaustion is an early indication that the body's temperature regulating system is becoming overwhelmed. If not addressed immediately it may lead to heat stroke and death.

Soccer players lose fluid through sweating which decrease blood volume. Blood flows to the skin away from the vital organs like the heart, lungs and kidneys.

Signs and Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion
Normal or below body temperature
Cool moist pale skin
Headache
Nausea
Dizziness
Weakness
Exhaustion

Heat stroke is the least common and most severe heat related illness. This occurs if you ignore the signs of heat exhaustion. Heat stroke develops when the body's cooling mechanism cannot function due to lack of treatment. Sweating stops and the body cannot cool itself and body temperature rises at a quick rate. Unfortunately if there is no treatment vital organs like the heart, kidney and brain begin to fail. If there is no medical treatment death is imminent!

Signs and Symptoms of Heat Stroke
High body temperature
Red hot dry skin
Progressive loss of consciousness
Rapid, weak pulse,
Rapid, shallow breathing

Here are five things you can do to prevent heat illnesses.

1) Find an area with shade either under tress or a tent. Just getting a player out of the direct heat can help them lower their body temperature.
2) Take a water break every fifteen to twenty minute from soccer training
3) Encourage pre-hydration. Make sure your players have plenty of fluid before soccer training.
4) Immediately after training make sure your soccer players have at least 250ml to 500ml of fluid. At this sports drink is good to have for electrolyte balance.
5) Players should avoid eating anything heavy before they train. The less the stomach contains the less stress on the body during training.

Keep this in mind with younger players. They do not have fully developed sweat glands. Youth Soccer players, until they reach puberty, cool down through urination. Many coaches and parents are unaware of this so keep this mind If you are working with younger soccer players.

Finally, training soccer players until exhaustion in the heat will lead to preventable injuries. Sometimes less is better than more.

Enjoy your training in the heat.

Buying Tips for Soccer Cleats

If you love soccer, what you need to keep in mind is that your soccer cleats should be of high quality. While playing, it’s your feet that play the most important part. Therefore, we suggest that you buy quality footwear. As a matter of fact, what you wear can make it easy or difficult for you to move here and there on the playing field. If you have been looking for a way to get your hands on the best pair, we have a few tips for you to achieve the same purpose. Read on.

Go Light

Make sure you purchase a cleat that is the lightest. Lighter ones let you run faster. Moreover, they don’t make you feel as tired as heavier versions. So, if you happen to be a forward and you are going to do most of the attacking, we suggest that you go for a light shoe. On the other hand, if you are a defender, we suggest that you go for a pair that is a little heavier. The reason is that heavier soccer cleats offer more protection.

Make Sure It Fits You

You should make certain that your soccer cleats fit you well. Also, you should try them on and ask the manager for permission to kick a ball for a bit so you can have a feel for them. Ideally, the maximum space between the shoe end and your big toe should be half an inch at most. If it is more than that, you may get blisters. And you may not want to end up in bed for a week because of the blisters. So, it’s a must that you buy a pair that fit you well. You can’t compromise on this at any cost.

Playing Field

If you play most of the games on a wet field, we suggest that you buy those with synthetic uppers. What does this mean? This means that the upper part of the soccer cleats should be made of artificial fibers. Actually, synthetic uppers tend to absorb less water compared to the leather ones. Aside from this, you can get those that are designed for ground, indoor fields and turf. However, if you can’t afford more than one pair, make sure you go for ground soccer cleats.

They Don’t Make the Best Player

Keep in mind that a costly pair of soccer cleats with high-end features can’t make you the best player. It all boils down to your natural talent, hard work and practice. As a matter of fact, some of the best players from Chile or Brazil kicked off playing in the streets or on the beach. With a quality pair of soccer cleats, you can have an edge over your opponents but it’s your hard work, smartness and talent that will beat them.

So, if you have been looking for a great pair of soccer cleats, we suggest that you keep these tips in mind. Hopefully, you will be able to get your hands on the best pair.

Considerations to Be Kept in Mind While Buying Soccer Cleats

All sorts of players, whether they are experienced ones, the young ones, the adult ones or the pro everyone needs a hand while picking up the perfect cleats for playing soccer. This article is dedicated towards making the right choice and selecting the cleats which are perfect for your feet. Let us start.

Cleats are Cleats!

This point becomes the first guide to buying cleats to illustrate that it is only the technique of the player which matters. The cleats can only accentuate the game. And hence no player should think that purchasing high quality ones would mean a drastic change in the game as it is going to be the endless practice which will make all the difference.

Get to know your style

Whether you are a goalkeeper, or a forward, defender, midfielder or winger, all this is going to impact on the type that you are going to buy. This is because all these styles are different and require a different set of grip on the ground. After identifying the style, go on for choosing the one which fits you best.

What is the type of your pitch?

The sort of playground you will be playing upon also makes a lot of difference in choosing your soccer cleats. If the land on which you are going to play is muddy and wet then you should go for HG ones. If you need one for a year, then turf should be your choice. Go for firm ground (FG) in case of grassy ground. Soft ground (SG) is apt for surfaces which are soft enough to allow the studs to penetrate the ground. If the surface is solid as a rock, then Indoor ones should be your choice.

The material used matters!

There are a number of materials which are used in making them. It can be K-Leather, Natural leather, synthetic leather, synthetic, mesh or knit. The K leather quality allows your feet to get molded properly and it also provides durability. Made up of the skin of a calf or goat, these are very good at the balls. Some companies are working in the direction of using synthetic leather that gives the same effect as that of natural leather. Mesh is a trendy and lightweight upper covering which sometimes allows moisture to reach the skin of the player. Companies are working on the waterproofing technology of mesh.

Weight

The weight also matters a lot. On an average cleats with the weight of 8oz is considered to be perfect as it keeps the things balanced and the player does not feel the heaviness. However, there are some extra light weight which also weigh between 5oz to 6oz.

Budget your cleat

The most important aspect of purchasing is the budget. How much can you spend on it? Usually $150 or above is the elite level where you can purchase the top companies cleats. But to see a minimum of budget, it should be $10 at least which you are willing to spend on.

Cristiano Ronaldo Is the Most Expensive Footballer in the History of the Game

Cristiano Ronaldo is a professional footballer who is currently playing for the La Liga club, Real Madrid. He is the captain of the national team of Portugal and he holds the record of being the most expensive footballer in the history of the game.

He was born on the 5th of February, 1985, and started his football career with Andorinha. He moved to Nacional before joining the prestigious Sporting Lisbon. In a match where Sporting Lisbon played against Manchester United, the talent of Cristiano Ronaldo impressed the senior players of Manchester United and they urged their manager, Sir Alex Ferguson to sign the youngster.

Manchester United signed the 18 year old Cristiano Ronaldo in the year 2003. Cristiano Ronaldo was exceptionally talented in the ball dribbling department and left the defender dumbfounded with his tricks. The moves that he spent on the pitch to leave the defenders dumbfounded became a sensation with the fans and various video compilations of his moves were uploaded on the internet to announce to the world this exceptional talent. However, experts criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for the fact that he spent excessive time on the ball and this decreased his effectiveness as a player. It was a right concern and Sir Alex Ferguson helped Cristiano Ronaldo to use his dribbling skills to adopt a more productive style of football and thus, created the player that Cristiano Ronaldo is today. He regards Sir Alex Ferguson as his «father» in the game of football.

The first trophy that Ronaldo won with the club was of the FA Cup and thus, started the triumphs of the young player which kept on accumulating as Ronaldo worked hard to improve on and on as a player. He became the first player in the history of the game to win all the major awards of PFA and FWA in 2007. He has been compared to the great legends of their times and has even been cited as being better than the Manchester United’s George Best.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the Champions League with Manchester United by defeating Chelsea. It was a remarkable match in which both teams of England contested against each other in the final and fans had much difficulty in acquiring the Chelsea Ticketsand Manchester United Tickets. Cristiano Ronaldo was the highest scoring player in the tournament and won the Golden Boot for this accolade. Furthermore, he also won three of the major PFA and FWA awards that season.

In 2009, he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid for a record transfer fee of £80 million. His contract made him the highest paid player in the world and he proved his worth when he became the highest goal scorer in the history of Real Madrid for a single season. He is the first player in the history of Real Madrid to have scored more than 50 goals in single season. He went on to become the top goal scorer in the history of the La Liga. For his achievement, he was awarded the European Golden shoes once again and this made him the first player ever to have won this trophy in two separate championships.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a prolific player who has achieved a lot in his career. His greatest adversary is considered to be Lionel Messi who plays with their league rivals Barcelona. It has now become a common to refer to El Clasico as a clash between the two great players – Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. They are one of the major reasons for the high sales of the Real Madrid Tickets and Barcelona Tickets as fans love to see the two players performing against each other.

But the biggest question that remains to be answered is: will Cristiano Ronaldo be able to help his side end the domination of Barcelona?

Season 2010 – 2011 Soccer Teams Of the Year

Barcelona

Josep Guardiola has turned Barcelona into the best football club in Spain for the past couple of seasons. Real Madrid was top of the pile but recent seasons haven’t seen consistency at Madrid and Barcelona has triumphed. Barcelona are currently top of the Spanish La Liga by 5 points, ahead of Real Madrid. Barcelona earns many plaudits for the way the play the game, the ‘beautiful way’. With Xavi and Iniesta in the heart of the Barcelona midfield, they have two of the best passers of the game and they are the heart beat of the Barcelona side.

Xavi and Iniesta have been phenomenal this season, but as always, there is one man at Barcelona who always steals the show. Lionel Messi, 43 goals in 35 starts already this season is a phenomenal record. Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world and possibly the best of this era. His ability to keep the ball away from defenders and to open up defences with his dribbling has the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the game. Words can’t describe how good Messi is and his sensational form this season has seen the success of Barcelona this season, domestically in the La Liga and in the Champions League. Not only has Lionel Messi been in formidable form, but the recent acquisition of David Villa this season who has 21 goals in 36 games himself has seen the attacking threat of Barcelona prove too much for any side this season.

Not only does it help having two strikers that can create a goal from nothing, but they have a midfield that works tirelessly when off the ball that makes it very easy for Barcelona to defend as shown in the recent 4-3 aggregate win over Arsenal in the Champions League. Again they are favourites to win the Champions League despite being knocked out last year to Inter Milan, Barcelona brushed aside Arsenal at the Nou Camp and look unbeatable at home in the competition.

Not to mention that Barcelona play Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup final in April that they happen to be favourites for that as well. Barcelona’s attacking flair and ability to keep the ball in all circumstances under any amounts of pressure is the main attribute for their success. Puyol is the leader at the back for Barcelona and he’s been missing for a couple of months through injury but they still look resolute and assured in defence, emphasising the side Guardiola has formed to be labelled one of the best teams in world football.

Barcelona possesses 7 regular Spanish internationals that have won the European Championships (2008) and World Cup (2010) in succession to dominate the national competitions. These 7 internationals consisting of: Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro and David Villa, thrown in with Dani Alves, Lionel Messi, Eric Abidal and substitute Spanish keeper Victor Valdes, you’re inevitably going to get a squad that’s near enough perfection.

Real Madrid

Despite Barcelona’s dominance, Real Madrid have ran Barcelona close and have a superior side of their own which consists of the worlds superstars which came at a hefty price. Cristiano Ronaldo was signed for 80 million pounds, Kaka was purchased for 50 million pounds and Benzema was 30 million pounds. Oh, and combined with the signings of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso. The forward seven of the team that has been glued together with Iker Casillas, Pepe, Marcelo and Sergio Ramos, it’s obvious to say you’re going to have a team with ability in abundance.

Despite the list of megastars Real Madrid have at their disposal, Real Madrid have yet to really explode this season but nevertheless, they still have got a good chance of winning the treble this season. That statement sums up Real Madrid this season, despite not playing at full potential consistently; they’re still competing for 3 major trophies which is frightening for the clubs competing against them.

Jose Mourinho is in his first season at Real Madrid and his first in Spain. He has a big fixture coming up in the form of Lyon in the last 16 of the Champions League which astonishingly, they’ve been knocked out at this stage of the competition for the last 6 years running despite Real Madrid’s force. Jose Mourinho’s arrival in Real Madrid was very much with the Champions League in mind having won the competition with Inter Milan in the previous season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Champions League winner with Manchester United in 2010, will want to help carry the battle for Real Madrid and since his arrival in Spain he has been vital asset to the Galaticos. He has notched on average 1 goal every game for Real Madrid (53 goals in 55 games) which is an incredible start to his Madrid career. So far this season he has scored 28 in 26 and has 8 assists to his name in the La Liga to date that includes 5 hat tricks so far this season. Currently he is injured which is a big blow to Real Madrid if they want to progress in the Champions League and push for the La Liga title in Spain. Ronaldo’s overall game has been stated by many Football pundits to be the best in the world, with Ronaldo having the feet of the winger and finishing of a striker added with a very good ability to score goals with his head. All these fundamental parts of his game create a world class player.

Real Madrid has yet to gel together with all the world class players they have in one squad, but with Jose Mourinho’s impact on Real Madrid in full flight, it’s only a matter of time before the players and supporters unite as one and become the potent side that Real Madrid used to be in the days of Zidane and Figo.

Manchester United

Similarly to Real Madrid, Manchester United haven’t been at their superior best and not played at the standard they have done in previous seasons. Fortunately for Manchester United, other teams in the English Premiership have not maintained any consistency either and can’t compete against Manchester United’s ability to grind out results. Manchester United are currently 1st in the English Premiership and still in the Champions League as well as the FA cup semi-finals. This is despite having a particularly average season performance wise by Manchester United’s high standards.

A lot of Manchester United’s success this season has to go down to Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite being one of Manchester United’s weakest sides in his years at the club, he has still worked wonders with them this season. He has used Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes so effectively this season for players that are at the age that are unable to compete competitively 2 times a week.

The dip in form of Wayne Rooney has seen other players around him step up to the mark and perform at their best which has also seen the success of Manchester United this season. Dimitar Berbatov has excelled massively this season and has already hit two hat tricks, against Liverpool and Blackburn respectively. Javier Hernandez has also been pivotal this season and has scored vital goals this season in what is his first season in English football. The Mexican striker signing for 7 million pounds this season has scored 16 goals so far, is one of the signings of the 2010/2011 season. Nani and Ryan Giggs have also been in exceptional form this season that has helped contribute to Manchester United’s results this season and they will need to carry that form on for several more weeks if they are to win that illusive 19th English Premiership title that will see them go past Liverpool’s record of 18 English Premiership titles.

Manchester United’s quality in depth has also been a strong reason for their success this season. The English side have been hit with unfortunate injuries this season too many of their leading stars. Rio Ferdinand has been hit and miss this season with injuries but Chris Smalling has been a revelation since signing from Fulham and definitely looks one for the future. Antonio Valencia’s unfortunate injury has seen Nani deliver consistency in his performances which has turned him into one of the best wingers currently due to being given much more match time than last season. Gary Neville’s long term replacement, Rafael has come on leaps and bounds since the start of the season which saw Neville lose his place to the young Brazilian and recently the former England international retired from football. Rafael is now ever present in the Manchester United side.

Tottenham

Tottenham have exploded on the European scene this season, and people in Milan won’t need reminding. Tottenham were desperately unlucky to lose in the group stage 4-3 to Inter Milan with Gareth Bale hitting a hat trick at the San Siro. Tottenham beat them in the home tie and also recently knocked out AC Milan in the knockout rounds of the Champions League to progress to the last eight of the competition.

The success has been down to a number of different aspects of the club that have been significantly improved to make Tottenham one of best sides in England. They have found a consistent manager in Harry Redknapp and is regarded as one of the best managers in England. He has helped stabilise the club and has brought the best out of all his players. His wheeling and dealing in the market has also provided Tottenham with one of the strongest sides in the English Premiership in depth. With Niko Kranjcar, Roman Pavlyuchenko and a host of other stars finding it hard to break into the side proves how strong the Tottenham side is.

Tottenham have been helped by one of the best players in the world this season. The vast improvement of Gareth Bale this season has earned him many plaudits and deservedly so. Gareth Bale’s performances this season are right up there with Lionel Messi this campaign and he has been speculated about in national newspapers about possible moves to Manchester United or Inter Milan. The left sided midfielder is already in double figures this season and has set up numerous goals for his side; his hat trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro has been one of the highlights of the football season.

Not only has Gareth Bale been in great form this season, but Rafael Van Der Vaart’s first season in English football has been priceless. Van Der Vaart was signed by Redknapp for a bargain 8 million pounds, one of the best signings of Tottenham’s history. Van Der Vaart has been a shrewd signing by Redknapp, playing just off the front man he has revelled in the role and has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season. Not only the form of Van Der Vaart and Bale, but Luka Modric has also been very impressive this season, dictating the way Tottenham play. Tottenham have the perfect balance of creativity and aggression in midfield with the Modric – Palacios combination.

Borussia Dortmund

Nine points clear at the top of the German Bundesliga see’s Dortmund the certain favourites to take the title this season. Despite a poor season in the Europa League, Dortmund have came out triumphant in the German Bundesliga, taking usual title challengers Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen by storm. If they go on to win the league, it will be the clubs first major silverware for 13 years, and completely taking the league by shock which they deserve to win with their performances this season.

The Dortmund squad have a fantastic team spirit and always keep the club’s off the field problems under wraps keeping a close harmony at the club. They are very discrete with no natural ‘stand out’ players, there aren’t any players who think their too big for the club which makes the squad solid as a unit and a togetherness at the club. Dortmund has some of the brightest prospects coming up at the club in Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic. The pair has formed a superb partnership at the heart of the defence for Dortmund which has seen them concede a mere 15 goals in 26 games, the best defence in the league by 18 goals.

Dortmund have already done the double over Bayern Munich and despite losing to Leverkusen on the opening day of the season at home, Dortmund later got revenge on Leverkusen by beating them at Leverkusen’s ground 2-0. This proves that they are one of the best clubs in Germany at present, not only just beating the teams who are struggling this season but getting good results against the best teams in Germany.

The key now for Dortmund is hanging onto these players and maintaining such a good season and carrying it onto next season and in the Champions League next season which seems a certainty in the position they are currently in. No doubt the top European clubs will be looking to get Hummels and Subotic on their books so they will need backing financially to help keep hold of their assets. Attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa has already been linked with Manchester United in the January transfer window having scored an impressive 12 goals in 25 games from midfield this season.
