What Women Do For Love

Women are mysterious creatures that possess unusual powers and qualities. Understanding them can be an exercise in futility. I have observed with great fascination what my folks can do in the name of love and I must say I've been amazed. It must be true what they say that "All a woman needs is Love" because in pursuit of Love women can do some if not all of these:

  • Kiss all the toads before getting to the prince … yikes!
  • Buy expensive clothes, perfumes and make-up to make their appearance pleasing to the one they love.
  • Pretend they are enjoying the soccer game on TV or laugh at his stupid jokes and yet they are bored to death
  • Put up with flat boring sex, fake orgasm and tell him he is great.
  • Go on a diet or completely change their eating habits in order to have a great body for him.
  • Go through various treatments such as Botox, facelift and plastic surgery in order to stay attractive for their men.
  • Tolerate him when he is drunk and acting like a child

I could go on and on, but the point is, women can go through anything to keep the men in their lives, yet surprising enough men would never tolerate these things. It's either you meet their standards or they start looking elsewhere; maybe it's the male "hunter" hormones that drive them.

I have also observed some women putting up with a lot of physical, psychological and emotional abuse and have usually confused this with Love. In a lot of African cultures this abuse is considered a sign of love, for example a man can physically abuse his woman for having attracted male attention as if it is a sin to attract such attention. This is interpreted as Love because the belief is that being possessive is a sign of love. Some men also go to the extent of demanding that their women have their genitals mutilated in order to kill any form of libido. This is intended to ensure faithfulness in the women.

While others also believe in treating their women like minors, their voices are not supposed to be heard in the spirit of submission. This aspect emanates from the wrong interpretation of the bible in some Christian circles where Paul commanded women to submit to their husbands. This verse is taken out of context and parts of this chapter where men are instructed to Love their wives are conveniently ignored. Therefore women cannot demand love but have to work for it by submitting themselves to become doormats where all manner of abusive language is used against them. In the name of Love some women are cut off from family, friends and relatives and they tolerate this psychological abuse in the hope of pleasing their men who demand that they should not associate with other women. The major excuse employed in this case is that these women if exposed to others who are radical, they might be influenced against their men. Women who fall for this type of abuse often believe their men are wise, they are more experienced and that other women are after snatching their men. So the effect is that women end up not trusting each other enough, thus they cannot assist each other because they are all competing for the same men.

My observations have led me to conclude that women are their worst enemies and in order to overcome this enemy they need to start loving themselves more, trusting their instinct and their female friends and associates. Women need to determine what they really want and demand nothing less. They should also learn to walk away when their rights are being violated in the name of Love. These are my personal opinions and comments are welcome.

The Lifespan of Soccer Cleats

Whenever a quality pair of soccer cleats is sold, there is a very common question that is on the mind of almost each buyer: how long is my pair going to last? Well, this is the question that brought you to this page. Read on to know more.

First of all, if you are a regular player of soccer and play this game 7 days per week, expect your cleats to last two seasons at most. Here are a few factors that will affect the lifespan of your soccer cleats.

Lightweight shoes

Soccer shoes that are lightweight are not as durable as the heavier ones. This is because they are made from thinner stuff, which makes these shoes more fragile.

Playing Surface

Just like other things, the surface you are going to play soccer on is also important. For grassy surfaces, we suggest that you buy firm ground cleats. You must not wear these cleats to play on artificial turf or the lifespan of your cleats will decrease significantly.

Your activity level

If you play 7 days a week, you should by an additional pair of soccer cleats. Wearing the same pair of shoes throughout the week will reduce their lifespan.

How Hard You Play

If you don’t play as aggressively as the professional players, your shoes will last longer and vice versa. So, you need to be realistic and go for the right pair of shoes based on your aggression level during a play. If you want your cleats to last the longest, make sure you take good care of them. Here are a few tips that can help you with this:

Loosen Your Cleats

Whenever you buy a new pair of cleats, you should put them on for jogging or before a game. This way you can loosen up your cleats. After a few days, the new shoes will become the right fit for your feet. Then you can use these cleats for your soccer play on the ground.

Dry Your Shoes

After each play, we suggest that you air dry your shoes. Another good tip is to stuff a few pages of some newspaper in each pair. The paper will absorb the extra dampness and will also keep your pair in shape. Excessive exposure to the sun is bad for your shoes, especially when they are drying.

Detachable Cleats

After each play, you should remove your detachable cleats. If you don’t remove them after a play and walk on hard surfaces, your cleats will become blunt. As a result, you won’t be able to use them.

Clean Them

Each time you get back home from the playground, don’t forget to clean your soccer cleats. This will prevent the dust and debris from causing damage to the leather. Aside from this, you should remove debris from the stitches of the shoes as well. It’s better not to use cleaning agents while cleaning your cleats.

Leather creams

It’s a good idea to use a good leather cream on your shoes as it will keep your shoes soft.

Don’t use hot water

It’s very important that you don’t use hot water to clean your cleats or you will end up ruining them for good.

So, I hope now you have a pretty good idea of how long your soccer cleats will last if you take the right steps.

Icc Cricket World Cup 2031

Cricket’s media-led popularity has taken it into new territories. From Afghanistan to China, countries which knew nothing of cricket’s appeal twenty years ago have become members of the ACC and ICC. Cricket has become globalised to the extent that membership of the ICC has doubled in ten years.

The potential number of people exposed to cricket within Asia alone has gone from 750 million to almost 2.5 billion. Much of this increased figure is due to the emergence of China and truly, cricket could not be called a global game without the participation of the world’s most populous country. China’s tremendous resources could well see them make huge developmental strides in a relatively short period of time. Our Chief Executive and Development Officers have been tireless in their efforts to create the vital basics of a playing culture and infrastructure in the fledgling cricketing countries. It has been an eventful 12 months for cricket in Asia.

It began with the historic series between Pakistan and India in Pakistan and concluded with the return matches between these sides in India. Our sport should take immense pride in the way that it has brought these two nations closer together. Both countries welcomed their visitors with open arms and the matches provided a feast of entertainment for tens of thousands of spectators and millions of television viewers around the world.

The low point of the year was the Tsunami of 26 December. The tragic impact that this had in the region will never be forgotten. News of the young cricketers lost to the Tsunami in Chennai and the utter devastation of Galle in Sri Lanka united the cricket world like never before. The Asian Cricket Council reacted rapidly in drawing together a side containing the continent’s best players to take on an ICC XI in the World Cricket Tsunami Appeal Match in Melbourne.

The memory of Sri Lanka’s year will undoubtedly dwell on the devastation of the Tsunami and the relief efforts that followed. Sri Lanka still recorded a positive record for the year, losing only two of eight Test matches and five of twenty-three ODIs and its players showed dignity in taking a lead role in helping the survivors.Oman announced itself on the international stage in qualifying for the ICC Trophy ahead of more experienced rivals and Malaysia acted as an impressive host of the ICC World Cup Qualifying Series, an event for which Kuwait and Qatar were both surprise qualifiers.

This will also go down in history as the year that China joined the international cricket family

Soccer Fixture: Manchester United Versus Newcastle United

This fixture was first played on 6th April, 1895 when Manchester United – still known then as Newton Heath – beat Newcastle United 5.1 at Bank Street in Clayton, Manchester in front of a crowd of 6,000. Newton Heath had moved there two years earlier after playing their early league games at North Road; this was a Second Division clash with the team having been relegated from the Football League’s First Division the previous season.

Newcastle United’s first win in the fixture came on 13th November, 1897: 1.0 through a goal by Willie Wardrope.

Newcastle’s biggest away win to date against the Red Devils came 25 years after the team had officially changed its name to Manchester United, on 10th September, 1927. Newcastle won 7.1 in front of a crowd of 50,217 at Old Trafford where the Manchester club had moved in 1910.

Newcastle scored seven goals again in the 1930/31 season, conceding four in reply. Jack Cape scored a hat-trick for the visitors with Tommy Reid also scoring a hat-trick for the home team.

A high scoring draw of 4.4 took place on 31st January, 1959 with Bobby Charlton and Dennis Viollet and the Alberts – Quixall and Scanlon – scoring the home team’s goals. Newcastle scored through Ivor Allchurch, John McGuigan and two from Len White.

Close high scoring games between the two teams include a narrow 3.2 win for the Lancashire team on 3rd September, 1966 when Denis Law scored the winner. It was 3.2. to Manchester United again on 15th October, 1977, shortly after Dave Sexton had replaced Tommy Docherty as manager. Jimmy Greenhoff scored the winner that day

The home team won 5.3 on 23rd November, 2002 with Ruud Van Nistelrooy scoring a hat-trick. Newcastle’s goals that day included Alan Shearer’s 100th Premier League goal for the club (he also thus became the first player to score 100 Premiership goals for two different clubs – Blackburn Rovers being the other one).

On Boxing Day, 2012 Manchester United won 4.3 with Javier Hernandez scoring the winner in the last minute of one of the most breathtaking games this fixture has produced.

Manchester United teams have put six goals past the Magpies in this fixture during three distinctive periods in the club’s history, and all in the top tier of English football. The ‘Busby Babes’ beat Newcastle 6.1 on 12th January, 1957 in front of a little over 45,000 fans and the last time this fixture was played before disaster would strike in Munich just over a year later. Whelan, Pegg and Viollet scored two goals apiece that day, with one Jacky Milburn replying for the Toon.

They won 6.0 on 4th May, 1968, just 25 days before Busby’s rebuilt team would win the European Cup at Wembley Stadium for the first time by beating Benfica. Sadler, Kidd (2) and a George Best hat-trick collectively routed Newcastle that day in front of an attendance just short of 60,000.

Almost forty years later, on 12th January, 2008, Manchester United again won 6.0, this time in front of a crowd of almost 76,000. Their goals that day included a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo. Alex Ferguson’s team would win the second of three consecutive league titles that season and the club’s third European Cup (now Champions League) in Moscow just over four months later against Chelsea.

On 7th December, 2013 Newcastle United won at Old Trafford for the first time in over 40 years, with a single goal by Yohan Cabaye in the second half proving to be the difference between the two sides
