The guys also discuss the penalty awarded to Tottenham and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s red card that reduced Man City to 10 men.
ESPN FC’s Mark Donaldson and Shaka Hislop take a deeper look into how VAR overshadowed Liverpool’s 1-0 win vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hislop doesn’t hold back and takes aim at the Premier League’s inability to successfully implement effective VAR protocols in games this season.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ surprise win vs. Manchester City was not without a healthy dose of VAR. Wolverhampton Wanderers became the first team outside the Premier League’s “big six” to complete the double over Manchester City since Everton in 2010-11 with a come-from-behind win over Pep Guardiola’s side at Molineux. ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol, Shaka Hislop and Julien Laurens break down what went wrong for Man City, particularly at the back, as mistakes by the likes of Benjamin Mendy and Nicolas Otamendi led to goals for Wolves. (3:47) They also examine the VAR decisions that impacted the match and (9:42) whether City has any chance of getting something out of this season by winning the Champions League.
