How on earth did they get Trippier for 12 mil….. how is one of the best RBs in europe going for 12 mil, especially when hes a set piece machine. mind boggling

  2. Ryan Shaw

Done deal what a signing for Newcastle they have got one of the best RB in the world for me hes pure class from a chelsea fan

These players are gonna have to be quick to get this meal ticket as once Newcastleblad go down and the Saudi Prince realises that Prem isn't Lige Une and that it costs an awful lot to buy a title… Just ask Chelski.

  4. Krasimir Vertonghen

Newcastle is going down to the Championship. He's better off staying at Atletico, unless he goes to Newcastle on loan.

  5. David Brielmaier

Trippier to Atletico Madrid made no sense and it worked out well for him. So maybe this surprising move will as well. However why do this if you are him? There is no upside this season. If they go down he is off to another team. I absolutly doubt he is ready to be a Championship player at this point in his career. Must just really want to get back to England.

Lot of bandwagon opinions. Watford, Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich have been incapable of picking up points. If Newcastle get a bunch of solid signings they could be well out of that mix in four games looking at their run of fixtures.

You don’t need Mpabbe or Messi for it, there are thousands of professional players, no question there are people in there that could improve any of these teams. Clubs need cash because of covid. They’ve obviously got big plans. It’s a fairly easy sell in this kind of climate.

If he goes to Newcastle it is a massive step back.
Newcastle will go down and I will be putting a massive bet on that they don't bounce back.

why would trippier go from champions league football with athletico madrid to a relegation battle in newcastle, if he did come back to the pl it would be to man utd or someone like tottenham

A massive wage is the only reason why Kieran Trippier would sign for Newcastle right now , £300k a week plus no matter if Newcastle go down

  10. Daryl Ang

He will give any top RB a v tough fight or outplace them in any top top European clubs. His form in the past 3/4 years had been real solid. Yeah he ain't exactly young but his game time and experience will give a boost to any team defensively.

Never in transfer history will relegation clauses be so uppermost in the minds of anyone considering this pathetic excuse for a football club.

Opinion here. Newcastle are more likely to go down than stay up as things stand. If I were approached by Newcastle, I'd be more keen to sign in the summer should they stay up. The only option Newcastle have is to offer Relegation release clauses probably for a free transfer. They will also have to pay average players premium wages. If those players keep Newcastle up, They are not going to forgo the big wages and move on.If a player took them selves seriously they would wait for the summer. Trippier could start 2022 4th in La Liga and a Champions League tie to play in, or, Start 2022 in 19th in the premier league potentially looking for a new club in May

Absolutely buzzing for this! The other big thing he brings is the mentality e.g. how he picked Sterling against Germany. That was some proper leadership
