On today’s Scout Report we take a look at three signings who could help Newcastle escape relegation from the Premier League! With players like Sven Botman, Kieran Trippier and Jesse Lingard all linked with the Magpies, we’ve picked out some more realistic alternatives!

With the January window fast approaching, there is one club that arguably needs to spend more than anyone else. Despite their takeover by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia making them technically by far the richest club in the Premier League, Newcastle United are in serious danger of relegation.

After 18 games, they sit 19th in the division, have conceded more than any other side, while only Watford and Norwich have lost more games. If the new ownership don’t want their first year in charge of the Magpies to end in embarrassment, then investment will be needed in January. But while they have the means to spend big, their dream targets are almost certainly out of reach. Here are three realistic signings they could make to aid their bid for Premier League survival!

I really hope so the likes of man U, man C, liverpool and that massive club "spurs"all want us to be relegated – get safe this season then smash the hypocrites next season

We want botman trippier and digne we can afford them (for once) and they would be way better than the players than our current but I don't think we'll sign witsel or Phillips and that's the point because of the transfer window better players will come and hopefully they could help us even more

  3. Jan Lievens

There are many reasons players could be persuaded to move to Tyneside – playing at St James' Park in front of 52,000 passionate fans, the possibility of building a successful new era under the new owners, and, of course, the prospect of hefty wage packets.

Other three suggestions for defending midfielder and centre back. First, defending midfielder, Luan from São Paulo. He has proven himself many times and is probably ready for his debut in the premier league. Second, centre back Pablo Mari from Arsenal. He has a great potential and Arteta is not using him. Third, striker Pedro from Flamengo. He has been called to Brazil's national team multiple times and he is young and could adapt easily to Newcastle style!

Three Brazilians would fit like gloves in the Newcastle line-up:
First, Goal keeper Weverton from Palmeiras. He is probably the best Goal keeper in South America at the moment. Second, striker Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo. He is probably the best striker playing in South America at the moment. Third, philipe coutinho. He is dying to go back to the premier league.

  6. Have That

Eventhough alot of people criticised Newcastle for having alot of money now and destroying the PL football tradition but i'm not surprised seeing this club getting new signings to finally challenge the top 6

The best and realistic signings for NUFC should be Trippier RB, Digne LB, Rob Holding CB. This 3 would offer more in defense and attack. They should be buy for NUFC. Then loan Dele Alli and go for free agent Wilshere. He is training with Arsenal and probably has been fit enough then before. paid him with pay as you play contract. Then lastly Adama Traore. Imagine him with Wilson and Saint maximin. 3 body builder with pace. Terrific. This would be the team.

    4231 formation:

Dubravka, Trippier, Holding, Schar, Digne, Shelvey, Wilshere, Adama, Dele Alli, ASM, Wilson. (5 England player, not bad)

Subs : Darlow, Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lewis, Hayden, Willock, Almiron, Joelinton

  8. Exploring Beyond

Newcastle seriously need to get rid of woodman, Clark, dummett, Ritchie, hendrick, shelvey, fraser & gale. Definitely get shot of howe, he's a liability Newcastle will go down under him. & practically the whole squad will go, & players howe will sign for the championship will be useless. Expect a championship relegation battle all season, Newcastle will not be the favourites to win the league next season!!

They should be relegated. Hiring Eddie Howe to keep you up was a stupid idea. Any defensive manager and a couple decent squad upgrades in midfield and defense in Jan would've been ideal.

    They deserve what's coming.

I appreciate the list of players and explanation on the "WHY", but I'm also curious on the "HOW". I'm not familiar with Newcastle's squad – which players would these 3 replace? What would be their new ideal starting 11?
