No time for teams trying to buy their way into staying up in leagues ..Why i hope Newcastle lose out and go down down down ..Same with likes Man c trying to buy Champs league no time for them either and still havent won it with spending way over the top on all their players lmao ..As for Eddie Howe Celtic fc dodged a bullet there as got in a much better manager in Ange we trust Hail hail ..

I'm surprised they didn't try Willock up top since he can't play anywhere else and he has goals in him I guess. Go for a youngster like Elliot Anderson over any of the other makeshift options , but anyway looks like we're getting Wood which is solid – Trippier was a great signing but they can't all necessarily be of that quality.

Looks like Wood is coming in for the Watford game. Not unhappy with that as a signing, it improves the squad and I think he may well be capable of challenging Wilson for the starting role – or perhaps be suited to playing alongside him in a front 2. Ideally we'd see Wood signed as a squad player with a big upgrade on Wilson signed later in the month, but that may be getting greedy.

EDIT: To anyone saying that this is an Ashley signing, you have the shortest memory in the world. Ashley would have signed one young League One player and a couple of unknowns from France or Holland, the idea of signing a first teamer from another Premier League club never occurred to the previous regime.

Roob he's scored 3 goals in 20 odd games that's poor and for 20 million no thanks typical Eddie Howe signing im sorry like but i wish we got Gerrard now if he Did'nt fancy us well money talks but i think this is why were struggling to get players in because Howe Does'nt want to pay the money but he would rather have championship or basement prem players i was behind Howe at start but im having second thought's now and that performance against Cambridge was all on Howe

This is a GOOD signing for Newcastle lol he’s a serviceable premier league quality striker. He’ll get u goals while Wilson is out. U won’t miss Wilson as much as u think

howe said he was injured in his interview….. gayle… also 20million for a 30+ year old with 3 goals is got to be worse then getting someone in with a release clause, this signing is daylight robbery" burnley must be laughing there socks off !! at that price 😀

I wanted Chris wood before the owners came in. he was scoring double figures each season. Even other he’s not scored much this season but he’s a strong 6’3 lad and trippier can whip a ball in

Wood is a good signing we've probably paid 10 million over the odds but that will be a drop in the ocean if his goals keep us up! Also if we do drop wood and Wilson will be class partnership in the championship

I think everyone is focusing on our next few games but have you seen Watford’s they play all 3 sides in bottom 3 next so that’s why this game on weekend is even more important then people think if they beat us and other 2 they could be 10+ points above bottom 3

Does anyone know where gale was on the weekend? I couldn't believe he wasn't in the squad. Seemed to me that howe wanted to use the match as an example of why we need Strikers to force the owners hands to buy one or two ASAP.

Don’t like the idea but at the minute I’d have to play Fraser, Miggy (false 9), St Max up top. That’s about all we can do in my opinion. Keep big Joe CM where he’s class.
