Hi Eddy. I'm Steph's dad, the guy who used to drive the mini bus to save the girls some money. This was in the pre foundation days when the club was family run. I do remember being told, which isn't mentioned in the video, that Mike Ashley had been approached for financial help and they were told that it was a privilege to use the Newcastle United name and that he would remove that privilege if they made a nuisance of themselves. So it's quite possible that a lot of the men's team of that time didn't even know the women's team existed.

Morning Eddy 👋. Insightful video & interview. Typical of our then owner. It beggars belief. On a positive note, an appreciative ( retrospective) thank you to the people mentioned who helped Newcastle Women's football team 👏 back then.

Wow. Thanks Steph and Eddie for doing this video. Reportedly, the Sunderland woman’s team, from what I read, were dumped by the club and had to re-name themselves which is just as crazy and shortsighted. Football should be for everyone and the big clubs have a moral responsibility to promote the game. Apart from that, there is unbelievable talent in the area just waiting to be tapped., men and women. Well done to the current owners of NUFC. You can’t change what Steph and her team mates had to go through but show the rest of the clubs how it can be done from now on.

Great video and the more vital exposure of what a hideous clown Cashley really was. Pleased the Women's team is being recognized and along with all things Newcastle United, can't wait to see what a bright future has in-store for us all.

Absolutely brilliant video Eddy. Love that you are promoting the lasses. I’m sure you will be covering promotions, cup finals and league wins very soon. Our new owners have changed so much for the good. Keep up the good work.

Them girls should be compensated asap some how! Morally degrading having to do that for a discount to a strip and having to pay there own way for representing are own club/city

What a really canny lass Steff is and I really wish her well in whatever path her life goes down! Sadly anything related to Ashley was/is a disgrace this interview sums the horrible man and his cronies up! On bright side that chaos is now a chapter in our history and from academy, ladies team and all things black n white we can now look forward! HTL (and Lasses)

Its sickening how the previous regime treated the club and community. Glad the womens teams are now also getting the backing and support from the club they deserve but it's a shame what the likes of Steph had to go through in terms of efforts off the pitch just to play

No words for how bad that Mike Ashley was makes me despise him even more now. Great to see the women doing so well and great to see you given the womens team time on your channel. Amazing content as always
